Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.

Grooming is available by appointment only, please call to speak with our Groomer to schedule at (228)832-0125.

Boarding is available at our practice by appointment.  We have a range of kennel sizes and board both cats and dogs.  Please call if you have any questions, prices vary by weight and type of animal.

Emergency & Urgent Care

We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.

Companion Laser Therapy

Companion laser therapy uses painless laser energy to invoke a cellular response in tissues that are in pain or damaged to alleviate that pain and/or reduce swelling.  It is commonly used in relief of allergies, wounds, surgical sites, joint disease, inflammatory bowel disease and many other acute and chronic conditions.  Please see the Companion Laser Therapy website for more details

Open Hospital

Northwood Hills Animal Hospital operates an open hospital. This means that our team welcomes owners to be with their animals during any medical procedure, whether a simple vaccination or a complex surgery.

Northwood Hills Animal Hospital accepts payment via cash, check, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa and Care Credit. So that we can continue to provide you high quality service utilizing the best medical technologies, we request that payment be made at the time services are rendered.

We do our best to develop a treatment plan, along with projected costs, for our clients whose pets are having surgery, professional dental cleaning, or other chronic care.  Please do not hesitate to ask us for costs prior to procedures.  We encourage and welcome open communication about financial challenges.

Northwood Hills Animal Hospital offers the lowest prices possible to everyone.  Among our staff are people who are veterans of the armed forces, who qualify for senior citizen status, and who work with rescue groups.  Rather than set various prices for different groups of people, we've simply done our best to reduce our prices in a manner so that they apply for everyone.  We are proud so many of our clients are active duty military or are veterans.  We understand the financial challenges faced by senior citizens and those who rely on fixed incomes.  We also understand that, in today's economy, everyone seems to be having trouble making ends meet.  In theory, we LIKE the idea of special group discounts but in practice we choose to give everyone the same price at the lowest price possible.
